Hey all. Before we get into this video about my “expat” experience as an American living in Saint Lucia… NO this does not mean I am not Saint Lucian, but I am St. Lucian by CHOICE as I was not born here.
But yes, I am 100% a SAINT LUCIAN CITIZEN. OK great, moving on.
However, as I explained, because I spent so much time away from the country, specifically in my teen years and early adulthood, I felt I could speak to the ‘expat’ experience having an understanding of American culture. COOL.
I was inspired to do this video by a YouTuber I enjoy called @YsisLorenna, who you should definitely follow especially if you’re a mom. She doesn’t know me but I like her content and want to give credit where it’s due.
However, I couldn’t find her EXACT expat tag online so I used this one linked here:
If you want to do this video and tag me, feel free as I would definitely watch.
Also, being fully aware of the coded language between expat/immigrant… I actually consider West Indian “immigrants” to the US/UK to be expats. So if you live that life and wanna make a video like this and tag me, that would be fun too.
Erm… for more on the political stuff, if you want a rant, @ me on twitter (@ericherochelle)
